FLSA Status:Full-Time, Exempt

About EEM

Every day, millions of people around the world are searching for hope, truth, and purpose by searching for God. What they need is His Word in a language they can understand.

Since 1961, EEM has been delivering God's Word to people across Eastern Europe and beyond, ensuring that those who are seeking can encounter the life-changing message of Jesus in the language of their heart. Today, we publish and deliver Bibles and Bible-based materials in more than 30 languages across 35+ countries, partnering with local churches and ministries to place Scripture directly into the hands of those who are searching.

At EEM, our Bibles aren't looking for people. We are serving and answering the prayers of people looking for their Bible.
Our mission is more than publishing, printing, and delivering books. It's connecting people with the living Word of God. Every Bible delivered represents someone praying for hope, someone asking questions, someone seeking truth, and someone whose life may be forever changed by encountering Christ through Scripture.

If that vision excites you, and you want your work to have eternal impact, we'd love to talk with you.

Position Overview

EEM is seeking a mission-minded Web Developer & Digital Solutions Specialist to join our growing Digital Solutions team. The primary focus of this position is developing, maintaining, and improving EEM’s WordPress websites, including:

  • EEM.org, our primary donor and fundraising-focused website.

  • EEMEurope.org, a multilingual WooCommerce website used by individuals and organizations to request Bibles and biblical resources.

  • Several smaller country-specific and multilingual websites.

The role will also contribute to internal application development, integrations and automation, CRM and data support, and internal IT systems and support across EEM.

This is an entry to mid-level opportunity with hands‑on mentoring, professional development, and increasing technical ownership. The ideal candidate is a versatile problem-solver who enjoys building reliable solutions, helping people, learning new technologies, and working across a variety of digital systems.

Key Responsibilities

Website Development & Maintenance — Approximately 50%

  • Implement designs and requirements from Marketing and other internal teams while improving website performance, usability, accessibility, navigation, security, and reliability.

  • Maintain multilingual websites using WPML, including translation and synchronization workflows, and troubleshoot website issues involving forms, plugins, checkout processes, hosting, DNS, and related functionality.

  • Implement and maintain third‑party integrations such as donation forms, analytics, shipping tools, video, chat, and other services, with appropriate testing and documentation.

  • Internal Application Development — Approximately 20%

  • Assist with the development and ongoing maintenance of internal web applications and digital tools that support EEM’s ministry and operations.

  • Build and maintain frontend features using React, Refine, or similar frameworks.

  • Connect applications to Supabase, REST APIs, databases, and other services.

  • Help implement user interfaces and workflows for data entry, search, filtering, reporting, permissions, and process improvements.

  • Support testing, documentation, deployment, maintenance, and future application enhancements.

Internal IT Support — Approximately 10%

  • Provide friendly, practical technical support and administration for EEM staff and offices, with particular responsibility for supporting the European team and its current IT infrastructure.

  • Administer endpoint/device management and Google Workspace, including user and device provisioning, application deployment, access management, onboarding/offboarding, and remote troubleshooting.

  • Help establish, document, maintain, and periodically review EEM’s backup, local storage, device, access, and IT security practices, including system updates, documentation, monitoring, and recovery procedures.

  • Coordinate qualified local IT support providers for office locations when hardware, networking, macOS, or other issues cannot be resolved remotely.

  • Document common procedures, systems, and escalation paths to provide reliable and scalable staff support.

Integrations & Automation — Approximately 10%

  • Build and maintain integrations and automated workflows across EEM’s websites, internal applications, giving platforms, CRM, analytics, and other digital services using Zapier or similar tools.

  • Identify opportunities to simplify processes, reduce repetitive manual work, and improve efficiency through thoughtful automation.

  • Troubleshoot data synchronization, workflow, and integration issues, and help ensure reliable data flow between systems.

CRM & Data Support — Approximately 10%

  • Support day‑to‑day Virtuous CRM and data operations, including reports, imports, exports, data cleanup, quality assurance, documentation, and troubleshooting.

  • Assist with CRM data flows and connections to EEM’s other digital platforms, helping maintain accurate, reliable data across systems.

Deep CRM administration and donor analytics experience are helpful but not required.

Required Qualifications

  • Active Christian faith and alignment with EEM’s mission and beliefs.

  • Experience developing and maintaining WordPress websites.

  • Experience with WooCommerce and WPML, or the ability to become proficient quickly.

  • Familiarity with REST APIs and third‑party integrations.

  • Experience using Git or another modern version‑control workflow.

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.

  • Willingness to provide practical hardware, software, account, and staff technology support.

  • Ability to communicate clearly and patiently with both technical and nontechnical teammates.

  • Ability to work independently, manage priorities, follow problems through to resolution, and receive coaching in a remote environment.

  • Willingness to travel within the U.S. and internationally as ministry needs require.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience developing custom WordPress plugins or advanced theme functionality.

  • Familiarity with React, Refine, Vite, Supabase, PostgreSQL, SQL, or similar application‑development technologies.

  • Knowledge of web hosting, DNS, backups, deployment, performance, and website security.

  • Familiarity with endpoint/device management, Google Workspace administration, macOS support, networking, backup systems, or related IT administration.

  • Experience with Zapier or similar workflow‑automation platforms.

  • Experience with Virtuous or another nonprofit CRM.

  • Familiarity with Google Analytics 4, Google Tag Manager, or other web analytics platforms.

  • UI/UX, accessibility, ecommerce, or technical SEO experience.

  • Experience supporting international, nonprofit, church, or ministry teams.

  • Multilingual ability (e.g., English, Ukrainian, Russian) for working on multilingual sites.

Characteristics of a Strong Candidate

The strongest candidate will be:

  • Passionate about advancing God’s Kingdom and helping place His Word into the hands of people around the world.

  • Teachable, curious, resourceful, and committed to continued growth.

  • Dependable and willing to follow problems through to resolution.

  • Patient and helpful when supporting nontechnical staff.

  • Comfortable collaborating across cultures, teams, and time zones.

  • Thoughtful about security, data privacy, maintainability, and long‑term reliability.

  • Interested in creating sustainable solutions rather than temporary fixes.

  • Able to work independently while knowing when to ask for guidance.

  • Comfortable shifting between focused development work and practical support needs.

What Success Looks Like

During the first year, this person will:

  • Take meaningful ownership of EEM’s website development and maintenance, improving the stability, performance, usability, security, and maintainability of EEM’s websites.

  • Deliver meaningful features and enhancements to EEM’s internal applications.

  • Establish reliable, documented IT support and escalation practices while providing responsive support to staff.

  • Build and improve integrations and automation that reduce manual work and strengthen organizational efficiency and reliability.

  • Improve documentation and operational knowledge for key systems, applications, and recurring technical processes.

  • Demonstrate increasing technical independence and ownership across EEM’s Digital Solutions function.

Why Join EEM?

This role is more than building websites and applications. Your work will help churches, ministry partners, donors, and staff participate more effectively in providing God’s Word to people who are already asking for it.

You will receive hands‑on mentoring, collaborate with an international ministry team, work across a wide variety of technologies, and have meaningful opportunities to grow as a developer and digital‑solutions professional.

What We Offer

  • A Christ‑centered culture driven by purpose and eternal impact.

  • A fully remote work environment with periodic travel for ministry events, planning meetings, and international opportunities.

  • Opportunities for mentoring, professional development, and increasing technical responsibility.
