Job summary

Humane World for Animals is hiring a skilled Web Developer specializing in eCRM to build and maintain front-end solutions for fundraising and advocacy. You will optimize UX, performance, and GDPR compliance while leveraging AI-assisted tools to accelerate delivery.

Remote work within the United States, with Eastern Time overlap as needed. The role requires 4+ years in front-end development, experience with Engaging Networks, and strong HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, and MySQL skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in web development.
• 4+ years of front-end development and custom website creation.
• Experience with Engaging Networks or similar eCRM platforms.
• Strong HTML5, Sass, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, MySQL, GitHub, Webpack, Node.js, npm, AWS, and Mailgun.
• Familiarity with CDPs like Segment.
• Experience with AI coding assistants and tools such as Copilot Studio, Claude Code, Copilot.
• Knowledge of responsive design, UX, accessibility, and GDPR compliance.
• Experience with cookie consent tools (Iubenda preferred).
• Ability to translate designs from XD/Figma into code.
• Understanding of US/international digital marketing strategies.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Digital Marketing, Brand, IS teams to define requirements.
• Develop, maintain, and optimize donation forms, advocacy forms, webpages, and email templates.
• Ensure UX, accessibility, page speed, and GDPR compliance across web properties.
• Use AI-assisted tools to accelerate coding, refactoring, debugging, testing, and docs.
• Monitor AI solutions for performance, security, and compliance.
• Troubleshoot issues with vendor partners and coordinate with InfoSec for PCI compliance.
• Implement and analyze A/B/multivariate tests to improve forms and pages.
• Create comprehensive documentation and support guides for web activities.
• Stay updated on AI advancements and responsibly integrate innovations.
• Perform related duties to support organizational goals.

About The Role

Humane World for Animals is seeking a skilled Web Developer specializing in eCRM to join our dynamic digital marketing team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining front-end web solutions that support fundraising, advocacy engagement, and other strategic priorities. Your expertise will help enhance user experience, optimize page performance, and ensure compliance with global data protection standards such as GDPR. The ideal candidate will utilize AI-assisted development tools to accelerate project delivery while maintaining high standards of quality, security, and accessibility. This full-time, remote position offers an opportunity to contribute directly to animal protection initiatives while working in a collaborative, innovative environment. Candidates must be based in the United States and able to work during Eastern Time hours as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer programming, web development, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
• Minimum of four (4) years of experience in front-end web development and custom website creation
• Proven experience with Engaging Networks or similar eCRM platforms
• Proficiency in HTML5, Sass, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, MySQL, GitHub, Webpack, Node.js, npm, core AWS services, and Mailgun
• Familiarity with Segment or other Customer Data Platforms (CDPs)
• Hands-on experience with AI coding assistants and agentic development tools such as Microsoft Copilot Studio, Claude Code, and GitHub Copilot
• Knowledge of responsive, mobile-first web design, UX, accessibility standards, page speed optimization, and GDPR compliance
• Experience with cookie consent tools, preferably Iubenda
• Ability to develop interactive data visualizations for campaign storytelling
• Attention to detail when translating designs from Adobe XD or Figma into functional code
• Understanding of digital marketing strategies for US and international audiences
• Awareness of AI trends in web development, including personalization and workflow automation
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment; familiarity with Jira and Confluence is a plus
• Experience with A/B testing platforms and Google Analytics
• Proactive mindset with the ability to work independently and within a team
• Interest in animal protection issues is preferred

Responsibilities

• Collaborate regularly with Digital Marketing, Brand and Visuals, and IS teams to understand project requirements and provide technical recommendations
• Develop, maintain, and optimize custom donation forms, advocacy forms, webpages, and email templates
• Implement best practices for user experience, accessibility, page speed, and GDPR compliance across all web properties
• Utilize AI-assisted development tools to accelerate coding, refactoring, debugging, testing, and documentation processes
• Monitor and maintain AI-generated solutions, ensuring they meet performance, security, and compliance standards
• Work closely with vendor partners to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues affecting digital assets
• Coordinate with the Information Security team to ensure all digital properties meet security standards, including PCI compliance
• Implement and analyze A/B and multivariate tests to optimize forms and web pages
• Create and update comprehensive documentation, support guides, and incident reports for all web development activities
• Stay informed on AI advancements and incorporate innovative solutions responsibly into development workflows
• Perform other related duties as assigned to support organizational goals
