The work

Build a patient-facing web app that guides cardiovascular patients through their full surgical journey. Pre-op prep, day-of support, and post-op recovery tools in one place. You will own the front end in React and contribute on the back end. The app runs in Google Cloud.

Compensation

Base pay range: $60.00/hr - $70.00/hr

What you’ll do

• Design, build, and ship a responsive React front end that is fast, accessible, and easy to use
• Create reusable UI components and patterns, manage state, and integrate with REST or GraphQL APIs
• Contribute to back-end services in the language you know best, and help shape APIs and data models
• Write tests and automate quality checks across UI and API layers
• Instrument the app for analytics, logging, and performance monitoring
• Work with clinicians, product, and UX to turn requirements into simple flows
• Follow secure coding practices to protect patient data
• Review code, document decisions, and help improve CI/CD

Education & experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field plus at least 2 additional years of experience as described below
• At least 2 years coding applications or services in a high-level language such as Go, Java, or C#

Required qualifications

• Strong React skills building production web apps
• Experience consuming APIs, handling auth, and managing client-side state
• Solid grasp of version control, code reviews, testing, and CI

Preferred qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Computer Science or an Associate’s plus 5 years of relevant experience
• TypeScript, modern React patterns, and testing frameworks like Jest or React Testing Library
• Back-end experience with Node.js, Java, C#, Python, or Go
• Experience on Google Cloud Platform or another cloud provider
• Healthcare product experience, HIPAA awareness, or interest in clinical workflows
• Accessibility best practices and performance optimization

Nice to have

• Design systems or component library experience
• GraphQL, Redux Toolkit, TanStack Query, or similar
• Containerization and CI/CD tools
