Tempest Interactive Media is seeking a passionate web developer to join our team. You will collaborate with support, delivery and account services to update and develop new website features for destinations across North America.

Our projects predominantly use Craft CMS, integrate with various APIs, and require clean HTML5, responsive front-end work, and a willingness to learn. The role offers hybrid work in Center City Philadelphia and opportunities to grow with a creative, travel-focused

Qualifications

• 5 years of web development experience, with agency exposure preferred.
• Strong semantic HTML5 and web standards knowledge.
• Experience with Craft CMS or similar CMS (WP/Drupal/ExpressionEngine).
• Proficient with CSS preprocessors like SASS.
• Familiar with Git, Vite and CLI workflows.
• Ability to build accessible, ADA-compliant websites.
• Experience integrating RESTful or GraphQL APIs.
• Experience with Adobe Creative Suite and vector graphics.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Update features on Craft websites with the support and delivery team.
• Troubleshoot challenges and resolve issues on client sites.
• Integrate 3rd-party tools and solutions into client websites.
• Develop new client websites and maintain performance.
• Provide scope and hour estimates for client requests.
• Communicate task status to Web Development Director and team.
• Write and maintain clear documentation.
• Add visual front-end enhancements.
• Research and learn new technologies.

We are looking for a passionate and skilled web developer to join our team. You will work closely with our support, delivery and account services team to update and develop new website features for destinations all over North America.

Our clients’ websites provide information and digital experiences to diverse audiences all over the world. The majority of our websites are built on Craft CMS and often will integrate with various other applications and APIs (CRM, Search, Reservations, Events, etc).

You are comfortable working with distributed teams across time zones. We are a fun, innovative team who are passionate about making a positive impact in the communities we support. We are looking for someone who loves keeping their skills fresh, and has a desire to learn and grow as a web developer.

A Day in the Life of a Web Developer at Tempest

• Work with the support and delivery team to update features on Craft websites.
• Troubleshoot challenges and resolve issues on client websites.
• Integrate 3rd party tools and solutions into existing client websites.
• Work on the web development of new websites.
• Maintain and improve client website performance.
• Provide scope and hour estimates for client requests.
• Communicate task and project status to the Web Development Director and web team.
• Write and maintain clear documentation of your work.
• Be creative with visual front end enhancements to client websites.
• Research and learn new technologies.

Skills

• 5 years experience, with 2-3 years at an agency preferred
• Understanding of web standards and able to write clean semantic HTML5 markup
• Experience with Craft CMS or similar CMS (ExpressionEngine, WordPress, Drupal, etc.)
• Experience with CSS preprocessors such as SASS
• Experience with source control and workflow technologies including Git, Vite and CLI tools
• Understanding of accessibility issues and guidance, with a commitment to making ADA compliant websites.
• Experience using AI-powered coding assistants (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude Code) to improve development efficiency and code quality.
• Experience with consuming RESTful or GraphQL APIs
• Experience with Adobe Creative Suite and vector graphics
• Professional communication style in email, virtual meeting and in person
