Job summary

The Hartford is seeking a Web Designer to join the Marketing Design team. You will hand-code HTML/CSS, build wireframes, and maintain live pages within CMS/DAM systems, ensuring brand compliance and data-driven product pages.

Ideal candidates blend strong graphic design with front-end coding, have UI/UX expertise, and can leverage AI tools to accelerate development while collaborating with stakeholders across marketing, IT, and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in web design, graphic design, interactive/digital media, or equivalent experience.
• Proficiency hand-coding HTML and CSS.
• Ability to read, modify, and adapt existing JavaScript.
• Graphic design skills with Photoshop and Creative Cloud.
• Solid understanding of UI/UX, responsive design, and accessibility.
• Experience with CMS/DAM for publishing and asset management.
• Familiarity with AI tools to assist coding and development.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• UI/UX design: Apply best practices to create intuitive, accessible experiences.
• Wireframes, mockups, and prototypes to communicate concepts and layout.
• Graphic design: Create graphics and assets using Photoshop.
• Design systems and brand elements consistent with guidelines.
• CMS & DAM publishing: manage content, metadata, and templates.
• Site maintenance: update live pages, QA, and fix issues.
• Data-driven product pages: ensure accuracy of fund data and disclosures.
• HTML & CSS: hand-code clean, standards-compliant pages.
• JavaScript: implement front-end functionality as needed.
• Redesigns and rebrands: support template updates and testing.
• Cross-team collaboration: work with design, marketing, IT, and compliance.
• AI-assisted development: leverage AI tools to speed up coding and prototyping.
