OpenAI is seeking a hands-on Web Designer for OpenAI.com, focused on business audiences. You will own design from concept to launch, translate product capabilities into clear stories, and partner with engineers, brand designers, marketers, and writers.

This hybrid role based in New York combines strong visual craft with UX thinking, typography, and accessibility. You’ll evolve our design system, ship polished web experiences, and help users understand and act on OpenAI’s technology.

Qualifications

• Portfolio demonstrating visual craft and UX decisions.
• Strong typography and layout skills.
• Experience shipping web experiences for business audiences.

Responsibilities

• Own design from concept through implementation, developing information architecture, user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity responsive designs.
• Translate complex product capabilities and business use cases into clear stories and compelling web experiences.
• Design product, solution, and campaign experiences that help business audiences discover, evaluate, and take action.
• Partner with engineers, brand designers, marketers, and writers to shape ideas, make thoughtful tradeoffs, and ship polished work.
• Evolve and apply our web design system, creating reusable patterns that support both consistency and expressive storytelling.
• Stay involved through implementation and design QA, paying close attention to accessibility, responsive behavior, interaction details, and performance.
