smartdept. is searching for a Web Designer for a creative agency client located in Cincinnati, OH. The ideal candidate will come with 5+ years of experience. This is a project-based, fully remote opportunity expected to run through September 15, 2025, with a splash page needed by July 15.
This role will lead the design and development of a new website to support a recent merger and brand launch. The new brand identity and logo are already finalized, and the site will showcase a dynamic, kinetic visual style. The main deliverables include a splash page to announce the merger, followed by a streamlined website with the new name, logo, announcement, and a careers page. There is no e-commerce or complex functionality just clean, engaging, and intuitive design that brings the new brand to life with movement and animation.
We’re open to the designer selecting the best website builder or no-code website platform for the project (such as Squarespace or WordPress).
What You’ll Do:
- Design and build a visually dynamic website based on provided brand guidelines and creative brief
- Launch a splash page by July 15 to announce the merger
- Develop a simple, intuitive site with a new name, logo, and careers content by September 15
- Select and recommend the most suitable website builder or no-code platform for the project
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders for creative direction
- Proactively manage project milestones, gather requirements, and communicate needs
- Ensure the site is organized, accessible, and visually exciting
What You’ll Need:
- 5+ years of experience designing and developing websites for brands, studios, or agencies
- Strong skills with website builders or no-code website platforms (Squarespace, Wix, Webflow, WordPress.com, Weebly, Duda, Format, etc.)
- Experience translating brand identity into engaging web experiences with movement or animation
- Excellent project management, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and drive the project forward
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Experience with brand launches or rebrands
- Background in creative agency or studio environments
- Familiarity with kinetic or animated design elements
- Prior work on merger or announcement sites
