Job summary

Syms Strategic Group (SSG) is seeking a Web Content Specialist to join the Department of Transportation's Federal Highway Administration staff in the National Capital Region. The role focuses on professional writing, editing, and production of diverse content, with emphasis on accessibility and SEO for agency web pages.

The position requires 5–7 years of web content management, a Bachelor’s degree or higher, and U.S. Citizenship.

Qualifications

Five to seven years of experience in web content management, with at least three in the last five years.
Previous web experience in a government or transportation context is preferred.
U.S. Citizenship is required for this position.

Responsibilities

Provide professional writing, editing, and proofreading to produce clear, impactful content for diverse audiences.
Create and refine publication documents, marketing materials, and magazine content with QA and version control.
Provide deliverables including marketing plans, newsletters, flyers, brochures, fact sheets, guides, posters, and web content.
Support publication of materials and editorial services across production stages in electronic format.
Correct errors in grammar, spelling, style, and punctuation; ensure consistency and professional formatting.
Design and format publication materials to meet branding and accessibility standards; ensure SEO optimization and Section 508 compliance.
Upload, maintain, and post content on agency websites using CMS; manage content across intranets.
