Job summary

Teleion Consulting LLC seeks a Senior Content Editor (Editorial Lead) in Seattle to guide editorial standards during a major website replatform to Optimizely. You’ll work within the website acquisition team across hundreds of pages in regulated financial services journeys, bridging writers and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Senior editorial experience with direct responsibility for a team's editorial standard and style
• Substantive editing across multiple writers while maintaining a consistent voice
• Experience writing or editing in regulated environments with compliance review
• Editor and writer in one role; not purely supervisory
• Understanding multi-phased content approvals in regulated environments
• Web/content migration experience using a CMS or publishing platform
• Experience in a design system or component-based publishing environment
• Preferred: Editorial Program Management

Responsibilities

• Edit content across a component-based design system and maintain quality across pages
• Create and enforce a house style guide with voice, tone, plain-language standards, terminology, and disclosures
• Lead substantive edits across the writing team for structure, argument, and clarity
• Establish peer editing to ensure consistent quality independently of a single reviewer
• Set the final editorial quality bar on migrated and new content blocks before approvals
• Perform duties as assigned

Senior Content Editor (Editorial Lead)

We are looking for a Senior Content Editor (Editorial Lead) to join our team! Successful candidates will have experience in all of the following disciplines – Editorial/Content Strategy, Web/UX Writing, Financial services or another regulated industry. Excellent communication in order to bridge across our diverse group of stakeholders.

About the Role

Our client is replatforming its public website to Optimizely. Several hundred to roughly 1,000 pages are in scope, alongside net-new pages for priority product journeys including credit cards, mortgage, day-to-day accounts, support, homepage, and locations. An external implementation partner is handling the build. This role sits within the website acquisition team and sets the editorial standard for that work and holds the quality bar across a team of writers.

Responsibilities

• Editing content across a component-based design system.
• The editorial standard, built largely from scratch. Today the site is governed by brand guidelines and a set of approved copy blocks; a full editorial standard does not yet exist. Deliverables include a house style guide, applied voice and tone guidance, plain-language standards, terminology and product naming conventions, accessibility guidance for content, and patterns for handling required disclosures.
• Substantive editing across the writing team: structure, argument, and clarity, not proofreading alone.
• Establishing peer editing among the writers so quality does not depend on a single reviewer.
• Final editorial quality bar on migrated and net-new content blocks before they enter approvals.
• Perform duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Senior editorial experience with direct responsibility for a team's or publication's editorial standard. Has built or materially rebuilt a style guide and enforced it.
• Substantive editing across multiple writers while holding one consistent voice.
• Experience writing or editing where compliance or legal review is part of the process, with the judgment to make required content clear and approachable rather than defaulting to dense legal phrasing.
• Comfortable operating as both editor and writer. This is a working role, not a purely supervisory one.
• Required: Must understand the muti-phased enterprise needs and demands of content approvals in highly regulated environments.
• Required: Web/ content migration with digital builds.
• Required: Experience working within a design system or component-based publishing environment.
• Preferred: Editorial Program Management.

Base Salary Range: $100,000 - $130,000 (depending on experience)
