Job summary

San José State University seeks a Web and Cloud Systems Administrator to help shape the university’s web and cloud strategy and lead solution development for strategic outcomes.

The role develops, tests, and supports web-based and cloud applications (including SaaS, collaboration, and identity management tools), ensuring availability, reliability, security, usability, and accessibility compliance across campus.

Qualifications

• Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in a related field; experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis.
• Four (4) years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Support all aspects of the SJSU website and manage support queues.
• Implement changes including new sites, accounts and backend design.
• Develop and test web applications and user interface elements.
• Provide administration and configuration for Google Workspace, Zoom, Okta, CMS and other apps.
• Monitor usage and log vendor tickets to prevent outages.
• Ensure content security and accessibility per standards.
• Evaluate and implement new features across enterprise apps.
• Develop modernization designs to improve reliability and performance of web apps.
• Maintain web architecture documentation and admin scripts.
• Develop monitoring strategies using Nagios or similar tools.
• Lead campus-wide IT projects with planning and tracking.
• Develop online help resources and provide training.
• Advise content editors on accessibility requirements.
