Job summary

Systems Implementers, Inc. is seeking a Web Back-End Developer to join the Hill AFB-based software team. You will develop and maintain an enterprise web app using Java EE, Spring, and Oracle DB, with a focus on scalable microservices and robust backend services.

Collaborate with engineers, analysts, and subject matter experts to produce clean code, meaningful documentation, and reliable integrations. This is a full-time, on-site role at Hill AFB; remote work is not available. U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or four additional years of related software-development experience are required.
• At least 3+ years of relevant professional software-development experience.
• Expertise in Java EE, specifically Spring, and experience with Oracle or another enterprise relational database.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and develop code for the enterprise web application.
• Perform peer code reviews to ensure adherence to standards.
• Perform integration testing to ensure quality control across services.
• Participate in database modeling and design activities.
• Collaborate with analysts and subject matter experts; create and maintain technical documentation.

Job Title: Web Back-End Developer
Location: Hill AFB, UT
Job Type: Full-Time

Overview:

Systems Implementers, Inc. (SI) is a contracted implementation consulting firm performing work at Hill AFB in Utah. We are always looking for motivated, energetic people who want to learn and grow with our business. The qualified applicant will become part of Systems Implementers software development team, to help maintain and develop APEX; an enterprise Web application that is used at Hill AFB to support depot maintenance, repair and overhaul. The applicant will also have the opportunity to be mentored by an exceptional team of engineers with experience in a variety of industries. This is a full-time, on-site position. Remote work is not available, and developers are required to report to the designated work location during regular business hours.

Key Responsibilities:

Work with a team of 6-8 Software Engineers to:

• Maintain and develop code
• Perform peer code reviews to ensure adherence to standards
• Perform integration testing to ensure quality control
• Participate in database modeling and design activities
• Collaborate with Analysts and Subject Matter Experts
• Create and maintain technical documentation for application features, system integrations, database changes, and support procedures.

Required Skills and Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or four additional years of relevant professional software-development experience
• 3+ years of relevant professional software-development experience
• Expertise in Java EE, specifically Spring
• Experience with Oracle or another enterprise relational database
• Experience with micro-service infrastructure
• Experience troubleshooting skills and the ability to problem solve
• U.S. Citizen
• Ability to pass a DoD Background check
• Ability to work on-site at Hill Air Force Base

Preferred Qualifications:

Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:

• Experience working on Agile software development projects (i.e. using Sprint or Kanban methodologies)
• Experience designing data structures and/or user interfaces
• Certification in any of: CSSLP, CISSP, CASP, or Scrum Master
• Experience with any of the following technologies:
