About Us

Hospice AI is a mission-driven healthcare startup focused on solving a critical problem: helping hospice nurses document more efficiently and stay Medicare-compliant. We’ve built an MVP that leverages AI to assist with LCD (Local Coverage Determination) documentation. Now we’re ready to level up—technically and securely.

About the Role

We’re looking for a contract developer who can help take our hospice documentation tool from functional MVP to a HIPAA-compliant, scalable SaaS product.

You’ll work directly with the founder (a physician-entrepreneur) to:

• Strengthen and clean up the codebase

• Deploy and configure services on AWS (EC2, S3, RDS, etc.)

• Set up basic CI/CD, error monitoring, backups, and secure access controls

• Help prepare the application for pilot testing with live users

Technical Requirements

• Proficiency with Python (Flask or FastAPI)

• Experience with AWS infrastructure (IAM, EC2, RDS, S3, KMS, etc.)

• Familiarity with security practices for HIPAA or healthcare tech

• Comfortable with frontend templating (Jinja) or light React

• Bonus: Experience integrating with OpenAI APIs or other LLMs
