Job summary

Velcro USA Inc. in Somersworth, NH seeks a Manufacturing Associate for the Second Shift (3:00 PM - 11:00 PM, Mon-Fri).

The role focuses on operating weaving looms, following standard operating procedures, and maintaining safety, quality, and on-time delivery. You will work onsite in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, require excellent attendance, and be able to perform data entry on production paperwork.

Qualifications

  • Ability to read, write and perform basic data entry.
  • Hazardous Communications training completion.
  • Lockout/Tagout training completion.
  • Certification to operate powered industrial trucks (PIT).
  • Proficiency with a ruler for measurements and layouts.
  • Willingness to wear hearing protection as required.

Responsibilities

  • Operate sets of looms and perform style changes per SOPs.
  • Maintain safety, quality, delivery and cost standards.
  • Accurately complete production paperwork and data entry.
  • Collaborate with team members in a fast-paced environment.
  • Work overtime, extended shifts, and weekends as needed.
  • Other tasks as assigned by supervisors.

Job Objective:

Ability to operate weaving looms and become proficient in weaving process, following established Standard Operating Procedures. Maintain Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost standards.

Essential Job Functions:
Commitment to Safety
  • Demonstrates a strong commitment to maintaining a safe work environment by adhering to all safety protocols and guidelines.
  • Promotes a culture of safety within the organization by leading by example and encouraging others to prioritize safety.
  • Promptly reports any safety incidents or near-misses to the appropriate personnel and contributes to the investigation process.
  • Active participation in safety-related programs and initiatives is required as necessary. This includes involvement in the safety committee on a rotating schedule, as well as participation in Risk Assessments, Exposure Hunts, department inspections, and change management activities.
  • Follow prescribed safety rules and regulations.
  • Operate set (s) of looms. Repair breaks, draw - in, repair smashes, perform style changes, ensure construction conforms to style sheets.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
  • Doff loom pancakes and transfer to carts.
  • Accurately complete necessary production paperwork and data entry.
  • Ability to work well with others in a team environment
  • Excellent attendance required
  • Full time presence required
  • Ability to work overtime as required or requested including extended shifts and weekends.
  • Additional tasks as assigned
What You Bring (Qualifications):
  • Ability to read, write and perform basic data entry.
  • Ability to complete Hazardous Communications training.
  • Ability to successfully complete lock out / tag out training
  • Ability to be certified to operate powered industrial trucks as listed below.
  • Proficiency in the use of a ruler.
  • Ability to wear hearing protection.
  • Requires good manual dexterity and eye/hand coordination.
  • Minimum of three to six months of experience operating machinery.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to learn independently including book, web-based and classroom participation
Work Environment & Schedule:
  • Onsite manufacturing environment with shift-based schedule.
  • Hands-on role with equipment operation and team collaboration.
