Job summary

Southeastern Utah Association of Local Governments is hiring a Weatherization Technician in Price, UT. The role involves hands-on weatherization work to improve energy efficiency and comfort in residential buildings, including assessing homes, installing materials, and performing repairs in line with program standards.

Starting wage is $19 per hour (DOE) with potential pay increases after six months. This full-time, benefited, non-exempt position requires basic construction knowledge, safety

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior experience in construction, carpentry, HVAC, or building maintenance preferred.
• Weatherization or energy efficiency training or certification (e.g., BPI, DOE) a plus but not required.
• Certification for OSHA 10 (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire).
• Experience operating and driving large vehicles such as box trucks and/or pulling utility trailers required.
• Valid Utah driver’s license and clean driving record required.

Responsibilities

• Follow written and verbal instructions from weatherization auditors/crew leaders via work orders.
• Identify air leaks, insulation deficiencies, and other energy efficiency issues.
• Install insulation, weather stripping, caulking, vapor barriers, and other approved materials.
• Repair or replace windows, doors, and ventilation components as needed.
• Perform blower door tests, combustion safety testing, and other diagnostics.
• Operate power and hand tools safely and efficiently.
• Maintain records of materials, work, and time.
• Ensure compliance with weatherization standards and program guidelines.
• Communicate progress and safety concerns with team.
• Maintain a clean work area and company vehicle.
• Attend safety trainings and complete required badges.
• Attend WAP policies and procedures trainings.
