Job summary

Meta is seeking an OS Frameworks Engineer for Wearables to lead direction in system-level APIs and collaborate with product managers and engineers to deliver end-to-end solutions. You will work across hardware and software layers to improve OS internals and framework capabilities, shaping the next generation of wearables software.

The role requires 5+ years of software development, strong C++/Java skills, and deep experience with OS internals, Android internals, and mobile frameworks.

Qualifications

• BS in CS or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of software development experience or PhD with 2+ years.
• 3+ years in OS, Android internals, or mobile framework work; C++ or Java.

Responsibilities

• Lead direction in how Meta develops future Wearables capabilities.
• Develop APIs in system-level framework layer for stack use cases.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build end-to-end solutions.
• Work with apps/platform teams to debug performance and stability.
• Build on OS internals and set directions for improvements.
• Lift coding/design quality through reviews and best practices.
• Define interfaces for new frameworks and enhance existing ones.
• Participate in design and code reviews.
