Job summary

Meta is seeking a SW Specialist on the Wearables Interfaces Engineering team to drive platform-level software across Core OS, frameworks, and applications. You will lead design decisions, optimize performance, and ensure tight OS-to-application integration for immersive wearables experiences.

The role requires deep expertise in system-level debugging, OS interactions, and power management, with a track record of shipping embedded devices at scale.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Expert-level understanding of platform architecture, including interactions between OS (Linux/Android), system services, frameworks, and application software.
• Proven track record of leading complex platform integration efforts across OS, frameworks, and application teams.
• Strong experience with system-level debugging tools and methodologies (system traces, performance profilers, memory analyzers).
• Strong programming skills in C/C++ and/or Java/Kotlin with experience debugging across multiple layers of the stack.

Responsibilities

• Drive platform software architecture for wearable devices across Core OS interfaces, frameworks, middleware, and applications.
• Lead cross-stack technical initiatives spanning OS to application boundaries for performance and power efficiency.
• Own resolution of complex issues spanning OS interfaces, drivers, frameworks, and applications; drive fixes across teams.
• Analyze and optimize platform-level performance, latency, memory usage, and power consumption.
• Collaborate with Core OS to define platform requirements and influence OS roadmaps.
• Establish metrics and frameworks to maintain system health and reliability across wearables.
• Work with hardware, firmware, connectivity, multimedia and product teams to align technical strategies.
• Mentor engineers and promote cross-stack best practices.
• Communicate platform decisions and trade-offs clearly to stakeholders.
