Job summary

Dexcom is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Manager in San Diego to lead the R&D Mechanical Engineering Characterization Team. You will drive test strategy, metrology tool development, and performance testing for next‑generation wearable devices and needle-based delivery mechanisms.

You will manage a team of materials engineers, linking adhesive and polymer properties to product performance while collaborating with Design Verification, Operations, and Commercial teams to enable end-to-end

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline; 8–12 years of industry experience.
• Extensive test development and characterization experience in the medical device industry.
• Experience leading engineering professionals and mentoring a team.
• Strong communication and collaboration across functions.

Responsibilities

• Develop test strategy, metrology tools, and performance testing.
• Lead the characterization and materials team for wearable devices and delivery mechanisms.
• Ensure integration with other subsystems for reliable product launches.
