Job summary

iRhythm Technologies, Inc. invites motivated engineering students for a six-month Engineering Internship/Co-op in San Francisco.

You will assist in early-stage research on wearable bio-sensors, participate in feasibility studies, and contribute to prototype development with a multidisciplinary team. Candidate should be pursuing a PhD or Master’s in biomedical, mechanical, or electrical engineering, with strong Python and lab skills.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a PhD or Master’s in biomedical, mechanical, or electrical engineering.
• Familiarity with physiological parameters and sensing (ECG, SpO2, respiration).
• Hypothesis-driven experimental design understanding.
• Strong math and physics foundations with basic statistics knowledge.
• Detail-oriented and keeps a laboratory notebook.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Support early-stage research to evaluate wearable sensing technologies.
• Conduct user studies to collect sensor data from human subjects.
• Develop and execute test protocols for prototypes.
• Apply signal processing and data analysis techniques (Python).
• Prototype electromechanical hardware; use SolidWorks for basic models.
• Work with lab equipment (multimeters, scopes, power supplies).
• Engage with healthcare environment to understand clinical needs.
