Job summary

Mount Sinai Health System in New York seeks a Research Assistant to support ongoing wearable sensing projects in the Advanced Wearable Sensors and Electronics Laboratory, focusing on expanding biochemical and electrochemical sensing capabilities for wearable and point-of-care platforms.

You will assist with experimental design, data analysis, and integration with hardware/software workflows, prepare figures and materials for meetings/grants, and engage in multidisciplinary discussions.

Qualifications

• HS/GED required; bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
• No prior experience required; strong interest in electrochemical sensing and wearable diagnostics preferred.
• Familiarity with electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, voltammetry, or related techniques.
• Experience with data analysis and documentation using Excel, Python, MATLAB, R, GraphPad Prism.
• Strong interest in translational diagnostics and human health applications.

Responsibilities

• Assist design and execution of controlled experiments for biochemical and electrochemical sensing in wearable sensors.
• Identify and compare sensing mechanisms including EIS, amperometry, voltammetry, aptamers, antibodies.
• Support sensor preparation, surface modification, and characterization for target analytes.
• Conduct bench-top experiments to develop calibration curves and assess repeatability and stability.
• Organize data, perform quantitative analysis and create visualizations.
• Prepare summaries and materials for lab meetings, manuscripts, grants, and collaborative discussions.
• Participate in lab meetings and multidisciplinary project discussions.
• Perform other related duties.
