Job summary

People, Technology & Processes seeks a Weapons Maintenance Technician to support Fort Bragg, NC, repairing U.S., foreign, and non-standard weapons at field and sustainment levels. You will interpret Technical Manuals to certify mission readiness and ensure strict accountability and security compliance.

You will work with GCSS-Army Maintenance Module, maintain labor records, and support safety and quality reporting in a high-security environment.

Qualifications

• Active Secret clearance and U.S. citizenship are required.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Familiarity with weapons accountability and physical security requirements.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and willingness to obtain IAT Level I if access is needed.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair U.S., foreign, non-standard, and legacy weapons at field and sustainment levels.
• Inspect and repair components, including mounts, barrels, and assemblies as listed in the TM.
• Interpret manuals to repair weapons to a mission-capable standard and ensure safety certifications.
• Maintain GCSS-Army Maintenance Module records and labor reporting.
• Ensure security compliance and report discrepancies after inspections.
• Manage inventory and uphold weapons and ammunition accountability.

Job description

Position Title: Weapons Maintenance TechnicianLocation: Fort Bragg, NC.Clearance required: SECRETScope of Work: Provides field and sustainment-level maintenance on over 15,000 U.S., foreign, and non-standard weapons at the Joint Armament Facility (JAF) at Fort Bragg, including inspections, repairs, and safety certifications for standard and non-standard weapons.Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair U.S., foreign, non-standard, and legacy weapons at field and sustainment levels.Perform inspections and repairs; replace bolts, stocks, barrels, pistol grips, bolt and barrel assemblies, recoil buffers, upper receivers, feed trays, and drive rod assemblies; repair and replace tripods, bipods, and mounts.Interpret technical data and current Technical Manuals to repair weapons to a mission-capable standard.Comply with all local, USSOCOM, and DoW accountability and physical security requirements for weapons and ammunition.Examine and inventory received items and report discrepancies and damage.Operate the Maintenance Module in GCSS-Army and maintain man-hour accounting, including PA61 work schedules and weekly labor reporting.Review and provide recommendations for safety issues and Quality Deficiency Reports.Active Secret clearanceU.S. citizenshipAbility to work independently with little or no supervisionFamiliarity with weapons and ammunition accountability and physical security requirementsGeneral knowledge of the Maintenance Module in GCSS-ArmyAbility to lift assemblies, subassemblies, and weapons up to 50 pounds, with walking, bending, and prolonged standingEnrollment in a Hearing Conservation ProgramProficiency in Microsoft Office; valid state driver's license; IAT Level I certification if requiring information system access
