INDUS Technology, Inc. seeks a Weapons Department Specialist to provide expert support for aircraft carrier weapons systems.

The role is contingent and based on-site in Norfolk, VA, reporting to the Program Manager, with readiness analysis, technical recommendations, and cross-team coordination. The candidate will advise on weapon system maintenance, test, and certification, coordinating with CNAL/CNAP and supporting modernization efforts.

Qualifications

  • Active secret clearance is required.
  • HS Diploma is required.
  • 10 years' experience planning, coordinating, directing and administering Force Weapons.
  • 10 years' experience in operation, maintenance, diagnosis, repair, overhaul, modification, test, certification and safety of air/surface-launched weapon systems.
  • 10 years' experience overseeing Warfighting IS, PIT control systems, and Combat/Weapon/HME systems.

Responsibilities

  • Provide on-site engineering and technical service to Force Weapons and related teams.
  • Assist with weapon systems stowage/handling/maintenance and related safety tasks.
  • Support ship alterations, repairs, and modernization planning; review Airborne Weapon NTSPs and provide assessments.
  • Coordinate with CNAL/CNAP to align feedback with CVN leadership.
  • Analyze weapons data for trend forecasting and readiness assessments.
  • Create carrier readiness guidance with NAVLANT and NAVPAC.
  • Provide bid and proposal support if requested.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Reporting to the Program Manager the Weapons Department Specialistwill provide subject matter expertise on aircraft carrier weapons systems and Force Weapons readiness to the CVN ROC, supporting CNAL Code N47 with technical analysis and readiness recommendations for air- and surface-launched weapon systems.

This is acontingentposition expected to be located in Norfolk, VA. The pay range for the position will be provided at the time the position is no longer contingent.

What You'll Do
  • Provide direct, independent on-site engineering and technical service to Force Weapons, the Force Engineer, and Ship's Maintenance Planning Managers supporting conventional surface and air-launched weapon systems.
  • Provide technical assistance on weapon systems/stowage/handling/maintenance; support operation, diagnosis, repair, overhaul, modification, test, certification, and safety of air/surface-launched weapon systems.
  • Support development of weapons/system-related ship alterations, repairs, and modernization/maintenance planning; review draft/updated Airborne Weapon and Target NTSPs and provide assessments to the Force Weapons Officer.
  • Collaborate with CNAL and CNAP codes (primarily N46) to align feedback with CVN leadership, and assess unit-level weapon system requirements affecting deployment/operational certification.
  • Collect, review, integrate, and analyze weapons system and elevator data for trend analysis forecasting Fleet/Force-level deficiencies; develop logic trees representing CVN readiness across mission areas.
  • Create guidance and requirements for Carrier Readiness by coordinating with COMNAVAIRLANT and COMNAVAIRPAC.
  • Bid and proposal support if requested.
  • Other duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

  • An active secret clearance is required to be considered for this position.
  • HS Diploma required.
  • Ten (10) years' experience in planning, coordinating, directing, and administering Force Weapons.
  • Ten (10) years' experience directlyrelated to operation, maintenance, diagnosis, repair, overhaul, modification, test, certification, and safety of air/surface-launched weapon systems, including stowage/handling systems.
  • Ten (10) years' experiencein oversight of activities, plans, and strategy for critical Warfighting IS, PIT control systems, and Combat/Weapon/HM&E systems.
  • Ten (10) years' experience analyzing military weapon requirements and fleet inputs on the Warfighting requirements process.
  • Must possess basic computer literacy and data entry skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (to include MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
  • Must possess strong time management skills.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, changing, and challenging environment.
  • Travel Required ~10% travel required.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Prior U.S. Navy active-duty air-enlisted rating or air-designated Officer experience.
  • Prior DLCPO/WCS experience aboard a CVN.
  • Experience coordinating security force weapons and ammunition issues.
  • Experience as a military weapons subject matter expert in watch team conduct/operations and use of handheld/crew-served weapons.
  • Experience monitoring critical supply requirements with weapons system managers.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain seated in a stationary position 50% of the time. Must also be able to alternate between sitting, standing, and walking.
  • The work requires some physical exertion, such as long periods of standing, or recurring and considerable walking, stooping, bending, crouching, and climbing such as performing regular shop activities, inspections, or to observe and study operations in an industrial or comparable work area, or on-board ships, submarines, and/or in weapon facilities.
