Job summary

INDUS Technology, Inc. is seeking an HM&E Specialist to provide subject matter expertise on aircraft carrier Hull, Mechanical & Engineering systems for CNAL readiness analysis.

You will collect and analyze data, develop readiness drivers, and brief leadership on trends and mission impacts. This contingent position is located in Norfolk, VA, and requires an active secret clearance and CVN reactor experience.

Qualifications

  • Active secret clearance required to be considered.
  • Bachelor's Degree with 4+ years' CVN operations experience, or an Associate's with 8+ years, or a HS diploma with 10+ years CVN experience.
  • CVN reactor experience required.
  • 10+ years' experience in operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of shipboard systems.
  • 10 years' experience coordinating HM&E ship systems and repairs.
  • Experience briefing senior naval officers and civilians.
  • Fluent in Naval Aircraft Carrier references and standards.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

  • Collect, review, and analyze Engineering data to support readiness driver trees.
  • Produce visuals of CVN readiness and brief leadership on developments.
  • Analyze CASREPs and failures; brief leadership on results and mission impact.
  • Assess impact of equipment casualty conditions on AWPs and recommend repairs.
  • Inform ROC SMEs of issues affecting deployment certification.
  • Create guidance for Carrier Readiness with COMNAVAIRLANT codes.
  • Provide bid/proposal support if requested.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Reporting to the Program Manager, the Hull, Mechanical, and Engineering (HM&E) Specialist will provide subject matter expertise on aircraft carrier Hull, Mechanical & Engineering systems to the CVN ROC, supporting CNAL Code N47 with technical analysis, trend reporting, and readiness recommendations for shipboard engineering systems and equipment.

This is acontingentposition expected to be located in Norfolk, VA. The pay range for the position will be provided at the time the position is no longer contingent.

What You'll Do
  • Collect, review, integrate, and analyze Engineering Department data to populate and further develop propulsion/engineering readiness driver trees.
  • Produce visual representations of CVN readiness and brief developments/deliveries to leadership as required.
  • Conduct trend analysis of CASREPs, material/equipment failures, and other findings related to ship's engineering services; brief CVN, CNAP, and CNAL leadership on results and mission impacts.
  • Analyze the impact of equipment casualty conditions, alterations, and maintenance on AWPs and provide repair recommendations.
  • Inform ROC Readiness SMEs of any engineering issue affecting a CVN's ability to certify for deployment or operations.
  • Create guidance and requirements for Carrier Readiness by coordinating with Codes within COMNAVAIRLANT.
  • Bid and proposal support if requested.
  • Other duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

  • An active secret clearance is required to be considered for this position.
  • Bachelor's Degree and at least 4 years of experience, OR an Associate's Degree and at least 8 years of experience, OR a High School Diploma/equivalent and at least 10 years of CVN reactor operations experience.
  • CVN-specific Reactor experience is required for this position.
  • Ten (10) years' experience in the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of shipboard systems including galley/laundry equipment, hangar bay doors, aircraft elevators, and air conditioning plants.
  • Ten (10) years' experience with technical coordination of HM&E ship systems (auxiliary machinery, hull/piping systems, cargo/weapons elevator systems), including repairs, alterations, assessments, inspections, and casualty reports.
  • Ten (10) years' experience briefing senior naval officers and civilians on shipboard systems/equipment status and recommending repair courses of action.
  • Fluent in Naval Aircraft Carrier references and standards per Naval Instructions.
  • Must possess basic computer literacy and data entry skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (to include MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
  • Must possess strong time management skills.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, changing, and challenging environment.
  • Travel Required ~10% travel required.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Prior U.S. Navy active-duty Nuclear Enlisted Rating or Nuclear-designated Officer experience.
  • Prior Engineering Duty Officer, Chief of the Watch, and/or Senior Auxiliaries Officer experience aboard a CVN.
  • Prior Refueling Complex Overhaul (RCOH) experience.
  • Prior experience planning and executing CVN major availabilities.
  • Experience with budget planning, development, execution, and analysis for naval engineering programs, including life-cycle maintenance cost-reduction initiatives.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain seated in a stationary position 50% of the time. Must also be able to alternate between sitting, standing, and walking.
  • The work requires some physical exertion, such as long periods of standing, or recurring and considerable walking, stooping, bending, crouching, and climbing such as performing regular shop activities, inspections, or to observe and study operations in an industrial or comparable work area, or on-board ships, submarines, and/or in weapon facilities.
