Job summary

CMC Recruiting is seeking a Wealth Management Operations Associate in San Francisco to support day-to-day investment operations and later expand into insurance operations. You will help process accounts, transfers, and money movements while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.

The role offers a collaborative, team-first environment with opportunities to develop SOPs, cross-train across operations, and contribute to process improvements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree required.
  • 2-5+ years of experience in wealth management, financial services, or operations.
  • Experience with investment operations (account opening, transfers, custodians, etc.) preferred.
  • Exposure to insurance operations is a plus (or willingness to learn quickly).
  • Series 7 license preferred, or willingness to obtain shortly after joining.
  • If not licensed, candidate to get the CA life insurance license within the 90 days of probationary period.
  • Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Team-first mindset with a willingness to jump in wherever needed.
  • Comfortable working across multiple systems and processes.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate internally.
  • Ability to work in-office in San Francisco 3-4 days per week (after training period).

Responsibilities

  • Support day-to-day investment operations, including account opening, transfers, money movement, and maintenance.
  • Assist with insurance operations, including application processing, underwriting coordination, and policy tracking.
  • Serve as a go-to resource for operational tasks across the team ("catch-all" support).
  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness across all transactions and client-related work.
  • Help create, document, and refine standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Partner closely with advisors and client service team members to ensure a seamless client experience.
  • Assist with ad hoc projects and operational improvements as bandwidth allows.
  • Maintain strong organization and follow-through across multiple systems and priorities.

Location: San Francisco, CA (Hybrid: 3-4 days in office/ full time in office during training period)

Compensation: Base Salary: $65,000-$90,000 (depending on experience and with total compensation potential at $70,000-$100,000+

Licensing support: Sponsorship for CA Life Insurance License, Series 7 & 63/66 (if not already licensed)

They are seeking a Wealth Management Operations Associate who will play a key role in supporting both investment and insurance operations. This is a highly dynamic, "catch-all" position for someone who enjoys variety, takes pride in getting things right, and wants to be a true team player.

This person will start with a focus on investment operations, expand into insurance operations, and ultimately become cross-trained across all operational functions. There is also an opportunity to help build and refine internal processes, including creating and documenting SOPs.
