Job summary

Vanguard Group is seeking a Senior Domain Data Steward to act as the primary data authority across wealth data assets. You will partner with Data Product Managers, IT, and business owners to ensure data is trusted, high quality, compliant, and ready for analytics and advisor tooling.

The role emphasizes end-to-end data health, observability, and governance, bridging business intent with technical delivery within a hybrid work model.

Qualifications

• 8–10+ years of data stewardship or data management experience.
• Domain knowledge in Private Wealth Management processes.
• Strong SQL skills to profile datasets and trace data lineage.
• Experience working with agile software delivery teams and Data Product Managers.
• Familiarity with cloud data platforms and data observability tools.

Responsibilities

• Co-Own Domain Roadmaps: Translate domain priorities into backlogs and milestones.
• Define Data Trust Standards: Establish quality benchmarks and acceptance criteria for pipelines.
• Drive Business Adoption: Advocate for the domain to drive analytics adoption.
• Proactive Observability & Profiling: Profile data and detect issues with observability tools.
• Root-Cause Incident Resolution: Lead cross-functional triaging to fix data defects.
• Data Flow & Ecosystem Integrity: Validate end-to-end data flows across platforms.
• Operationalize Privacy & Controls: Implement data protection and privacy standards.
• Audit & Regulatory Readiness: Ensure data is compliant and traceable.
• Cross-Team Alignment: Align owners, managers, and engineers around a vision.
