Job summary

Vanguard seeks a Senior Domain Data Steward to act as the primary domain authority across wealth data assets. You will work with Data Product Managers, IT, and business domain owners to ensure data is trusted, high-quality, and regulation-defensible, powering advisor tools and executive analytics.

You will own end-to-end data health, profiling, and privacy controls, bridging business intent with technical delivery.

Qualifications

• Strong data governance and stewardship capabilities.
• Proficient in SQL for profiling and data lineage.
• Experience with cross-functional agile teams.
• Knowledge of cloud data platforms and data pipelines.
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements impacting wealth data.

Responsibilities

• Co-Own Domain Roadmaps: Partner with Data Product Managers to translate priorities into backlogs and milestones.
• Define Data Trust Standards: Establish quality benchmarks and validation rules for SDLC and data pipelines.
• Drive Business Adoption: Advocate for domain data to enable self-service analytics and trusted data products.
• Proactive Observability & Profiling: Conduct data profiling and anomaly detection using SQL and observability tools.
• Root-Cause Incident Resolution: Lead cross-functional triage with Data Engineering to implement permanent fixes.
• Data Flow & Ecosystem Integrity: Validate end-to-end data flows across wealth platforms to cloud warehouses and analytical layers.
• Operationalize Privacy & Controls: Implement client data protection and privacy standards inside data products.
• Audit & Regulatory Readiness: Ensure data is complete, traceable, and compliant with regulatory mandates.
• Cross-Team Alignment: Align Business Domain Owners, Data Product Managers, and IT Engineering toward a unified data quality vision.
