Job summary

Generational Group, a leading wealth management firm based in the Dallas area, is seeking a Wealth Advisor/Financial Planner. This client-facing role partners with business owners to manage and grow assets, reports to the Director of Financial Planning, and thrives in a fast-paced team setting with attractive bonus potential.

The ideal candidate holds a CFP designation, 5+ years of leadership in financial planning, and is proficient with planning software and CRM tools.

Qualifications

  • CFP credential and Series 65 license required.
  • 5+ years in wealth management with client-facing responsibilities.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, or related field.
  • Proven ability to develop long-term client relationships and grow assets.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of the client-advisor relationship, including ongoing portfolio reviews, coordinating new investment strategies, and ensuring client requests are fulfilled in a timely manner.
  • Develop long-term client relationships to capture future assets under management.
  • Lead and attend in-person and web-based client meetings (Zoom/Teams).
  • Monitor client accounts and records to ensure accuracy.
  • Lead the financial planning process, including preparing and delivering reports and implementing recommendations.
  • Coordinate with attorneys, tax professionals, and M&A advisors; support business development activities.

This position reports to the Director of Financial Planning and works well for a person who thrives in a team atmosphere and a fast-paced environment, with client interaction throughout most of the day.The preferred candidate has already obtained the CFP credential, has more than 5 years of experience as a leader in creating and delivering financial plans and investment recommendations, and is comfortable developing client relationships to capture and retain assets under management.GWA works with a nationwide client base, so occasional meetings will need to be scheduled outside of normal business hours.Key ResponsibilitiesClient Relationship Management• Manage all aspects of the client-advisor relationship on behalf of GWA, including ongoing portfolio reviews, coordinating new investment strategies, and ensuring client requests are fulfilled in a timely manner• Develop long-term client relationships to capture future assets under management• Lead and attend both in-person and web-based (Zoom/Teams) client meetings• Monitor client accounts and review client records to ensure accuracyFinancial Planning & Advisory• Lead the clients’ financial planning process, including preparing and delivering financial reports, implementing recommendations, and working with other members of the financial planning team• Develop spreadsheets or models to evaluate financial planning topics and trade scenarios as neededCross-Functional & Business Development Support• Coordinate with outside professionals related to client management, such as attorneys, tax professionals, and M&A advisors• Work directly with the operations team to execute operational tasks and support higher-level operations-related projects• Support business development efforts, which may include attending prospect meetings, preparing reports or information for prospects, and managing follow-up discussions with prospects• Manage and complete multiple tasks in a timely manner; tasks are both recurring and ad hoc based on client needsInvestment & Portfolio Duties• Participate in investment and/or portfolio committee activities as needed, including reviewing macroeconomic themes, contributing to asset allocation policy, and performing due diligence on model portfolios and investment strategies• Place trades in alignment with firm investment and asset location philosophies• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university with study in business, finance, accounting, or a related field• Current CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER (CFP) designation• Series 65 license required (or ability to obtain within an agreed-upon timeframe)• 5+ years’ experience working in a wealth management-related position, including client-facing responsibilities• Previous experience using financial planning software such as Right Capital, MoneyGuide Pro, eMoney, or Holistiplan; experience with Riskalyze or comparable risk-tolerance tools a plus• Experience using a CRM system such as Salesforce• Familiarity with portfolio management and trading platforms such as Tamarac Trading, Tamarac Advisor View, or Schwab Advisor Center, and investment research tools such as YCharts, a plus• Excellent time management skills, with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines• Active listening and observation skills, with proactive problem-solving abilities• An understanding of general business principles, with the ability to review and organize financial documentsWhy Generational Group• Be part of a market-leading firm with a proven 30+ year track record of client success.• Work alongside experienced finance and operations professionals in a collaborative environment.• Base salary plus quarterly bonus structure, with first-year target compensation of $120,000–$140,000.• Comprehensive benefits package.• Opportunities for professional growth and career development.• A culture built on integrity, excellence, and a genuine commitment to the clients and communities we serve.Generational Group is an equal opportunity employer.
