Job summary

Generational Group's Wealth Advisor / Financial Planner is a client-facing role for partnering with business owners to manage and grow their assets. Reporting to the Director of Financial Planning, this position suits a team-oriented, fast-paced environment with daily client interaction.

Preferred candidates hold CFP® and have 5+ years leading financial planning and investment recommendations. GWA serves a nationwide client base; occasional meetings outside regular hours are expected.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, or related field.
  • Current CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER (CFP®) designation.
  • Series 65 license required or obtainable within agreed timeframe.
  • 5+ years in wealth management with client-facing responsibilities.
  • Experience with financial planning software (Right Capital, MoneyGuide Pro, eMoney, Holistiplan).
  • Familiarity with Salesforce CRM.
  • Knowledge of portfolio management and trading platforms (Tamarac, Schwab).
  • Strong time management, multitasking, and deadline-driven work ethic.
  • Excellent listening and proactive problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of the client-advisor relationship and portfolio reviews.
  • Develop long-term client relationships to grow assets under management.
  • Lead in-person and virtual client meetings (Zoom/Teams).
  • Prepare financial reports and implement recommendations with the planning team.
  • Collaborate with attorneys, tax professionals, and M&A advisors.
  • Support business development and prospect meetings.

About Generational Wealth Advisors

GWA is a rapidly growing Registered Investment Advisor located in the Dallas suburb of Richardson. Position Overview

The Wealth Advisor / Financial Planner is a client-facing role for someone with a passion for partnering with business owners in managing and growing their assets. This position reports to the Director of Financial Planning and works well for a person who thrives in a team atmosphere and a fast-paced environment, with client interaction throughout most of the day. The preferred candidate has already obtained the CFP® credential, has more than 5 years of experience as a leader in creating and delivering financial plans and investment recommendations, and is comfortable developing client relationships to capture and retain assets under management. GWA works with a nationwide client base, so occasional meetings will need to be scheduled outside of normal business hours.

Key Responsibilities
Client Relationship Management
  • Manage all aspects of the client-advisor relationship on behalf of GWA, including ongoing portfolio reviews, coordinating new investment strategies, and ensuring client requests are fulfilled in a timely manner
  • Develop long-term client relationships to capture future assets under management
  • Lead and attend both in-person and web-based (Zoom/Teams) client meetings
  • Monitor client accounts and review client records to ensure accuracy
Financial Planning & Advisory
  • Lead the clients’ financial planning process, including preparing and delivering financial reports, implementing recommendations, and working with other members of the financial planning team
  • Develop spreadsheets or models to evaluate financial planning topics and trade scenarios as needed
Cross-Functional & Business Development Support
  • Coordinate with outside professionals related to client management, such as attorneys, tax professionals, and M&A advisors
  • Work directly with the operations team to execute operational tasks and support higher-level operations-related projects
  • Support business development efforts, which may include attending prospect meetings, preparing reports or information for prospects, and managing follow-up discussions with prospects
  • Manage and complete multiple tasks in a timely manner; tasks are both recurring and ad hoc based on client needs
Investment & Portfolio Duties
  • Participate in investment and/or portfolio committee activities as needed, including reviewing macroeconomic themes, contributing to asset allocation policy, and performing due diligence on model portfolios and investment strategies
  • Place trades in alignment with firm investment and asset location philosophies
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university with study in business, finance, accounting, or a related field
  • Current CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER (CFP®) designation
  • Series 65 license required (or ability to obtain within an agreed-upon timeframe)
  • 5+ years’ experience working in a wealth management-related position, including client-facing responsibilities
  • Previous experience using financial planning software such as Right Capital, MoneyGuide Pro, eMoney, or Holistiplan; experience with Riskalyze or comparable risk-tolerance tools a plus
  • Experience using a CRM system such as Salesforce
  • Familiarity with portfolio management and trading platforms such as Tamarac Trading, Tamarac Advisor View, or Schwab Advisor Center, and investment research tools such as YCharts, a plus
  • Excellent time management skills, with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines
  • Active listening and observation skills, with proactive problem-solving abilities
  • An understanding of general business principles, with the ability to review and organize financial documents
