Wealth Advisor

New York, NY (In Office)

Wealth Advisor Overview

Our Mission

NerdWallet Wealth Partners (NWWP) is a rapidly growing Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) redefining wealth management. Founded by experienced advisors, we deliver high-touch, human-to-human service through personalized financial planning, research-driven investing and proactive behavioral coaching. We provide an elevated and relatable advisory experience built on trust, fiduciary excellence, and long-term partnership.

Job Purpose

Advisors are central to our firm, developing and stewarding long-term client relationships while delivering comprehensive financial planning and investment management. As the end-to-end relationship owner—from initial engagement through ongoing advice and portfolio oversight—Wealth Advisors serve as a trusted fiduciary, providing highly personalized, research-driven guidance aligned with each client’s long-term goals. This role directly contributes to firm growth through client conversion, retention, and strategic insight.

Roles and Responsibilities

The Wealth Advisor is the client relationship owner within the Advisory team focused on deep advice and client service rather than prospecting. Supported by tech-forward infrastructure and a collaborative team, Wealth Advisors are empowered to focus on what matters most: delivering highly personalized advice and building enduring client relationships through comprehensive financial planning, investment implementation, and proactive client engagement.

In addition to client-facing responsibilities, this role contributes to a collaborative and inclusive team environment participating in team discussions, feedback conversations, and professional development opportunities. The role also contributes to frontline insights to improve sales effectiveness, client experience, and overall firm growth while upholding the highest fiduciary standards.

Key Functions

Developing & Closing New Client Relationships

  • Successfully identify prospect needs and articulate NWWP’s investment philosophy, client experience and unique value proposition across communication mediums.

  • Convert warm inbound leads into long-term advisory relationships aligned with defined growth goals.

  • Close and manage referrals from existing clients in alignment with defined growth metrics.

  • Provide frontline insights to the sales and marketing processes to refine our prospective client outreach.

Wealth Planning, Coaching & Relationship Management

  • Identify individual client planning needs across investment, tax, estate, insurance, and related areas. Develop and implement comprehensive financial plans tailored to each client’s needs using firm planning tools.

  • Monitor and rebalance portfolios in accordance with NWWP’s investment philosophy and pursuant to each client’s individual plan and market conditions.

  • Serve as a trusted advisor and coach. Track client goals, record progress and ensure follow-through on planning initiatives.

  • Maintain regular client engagement through quarterly touchpoints, annual reviews, and proactive outreach related to market or client-related developments.

  • Provide coaching on ad hoc financial items such as property purchases, education funding, estate concerns, insurance, and equity incentive advice (RSUs/ISOs), among others.

  • Collaborate with clients’ accountants, estate attorneys, and other centers of influence (COIs) to deliver a fully integrated advisory experience.

Operational Excellence

  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all prospect and client interactions within CRM systems.

  • Uphold all regulatory, compliance, and licensure requirements.

  • Share frontline insights to improve sales, marketing, and client experience processes.

  • Partner effectively with team members, contribute to process improvements, and participate in feedback and development conversations to support a collaborative, inclusive environment.

Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial services, preferably in wealth management or advisory. CFP®, CFA®, CPA, or other advanced financial designation preferred.

  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage multiple client relationships, deliver comprehensive financial planning, and convert warm leads in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong knowledge of investment allocation, portfolio construction, and fiduciary responsibilities.

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage clients and colleagues across multiple mediums.

  • High integrity and commitment to ethical and fiduciary standards.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize responsibilities, manage multiple client commitments, and maintain responsiveness.

  • Proficiency in Google Workspace and comfort learning new financial technology platforms.

  • Openness to feedback, willingness to seek coaching, and ability to course correct when needed.

  • Ability to build collaborative, inclusive team relationships and contribute to a respectful, trust-based environment.

  • Willingness to obtain the required Series 65 within one month of hire (if not already held or satisfied through qualifying designation).
