Job summary

Precision Castparts Corp. is seeking a press operator to set up and run various presses that produce wax or synthetic patterns for ceramic mold forming. You will adjust presses, inspect patterns, trim excess material, and identify parts as required, while maintaining a clean work area and assisting with material handling.

The role involves loading dies, operating trimming tools, and reporting any press issues to supervision, with emphasis on accuracy and efficiency in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Experience setting up injection/ extrusion presses to produce wax or synthetic patterns.
• Ability to visually inspect patterns for voids or defects and trim accordingly.
• Familiarity with lubricating, assembling dies, and handling die components safely.

Responsibilities

• Obtain specification sheets and set up injection press by adjusting stops, pressures, and temperatures.
• Operate presses to form patterns and inspect finished parts for defects.
• Use knives to trim flash and dress completed parts; identify parts with stamps as required.
• Move materials and dies using handling devices; keep work area clean and orderly.
• Report unusual conditions or press faults to the supervisor.
