Job description

Howmet Aerospace, located in Wichita Falls, TX, is hiring a Wax B Operator to handle pattern inspection, pattern sub‑assembly, mold assembly, gating, taping, engraving, and pinner/robot operations.

Responsibilities
  • Inspect all patterns and determine acceptance, repair or scrap per provided instructions.
  • Follow protocol for reporting deviations and scrap trends.
  • Set up and use dimensional gauges to inspect cores and wax patterns.
  • Prepare sprues; locate ceramic bracing per engineering specifications.
  • Attach patterns to gating and seal per specified methods, including dip‑seal operations.
  • Assemble multiple airfoil patterns and oversee overall mold quality.
  • Torch sprues, seal, and pour into cups; add bracing as required.
  • Set up equipment for specific activities.
  • Operate and maintain the pinner/robot system.
  • Pay close attention to detail, keep supplies stocked and perform other duties as needed.
  • Work overtime as required and follow 5S rules.
  • Utilize help chain and workplace safety protocols.
Qualifications

Working Hours

12‑hour rotating night shifts (6:48 PM–6:48 AM). Rotations vary: 2 on 2 off, 3 on 2 off, 2 on 3 off.

Physical Demands
  • Stair climbing; reaching near, far, and overhead.
  • Push, pull, twist, and handle.
  • Lift from floor-to-waist, waist-to-chest, chest-to-overhead.
  • Finger press and use keyboard, mouse; tolerance to hand/arm vibration.
  • Grip and pinch tasks.
  • Carry items with one or two hands; moderate physical effort and prolonged standing.
  • Squat, crouch, bend for retrieving items from lower shelves.
  • Lift over 5 lbs.
  • Pass Jaeger I eye exam.
  • Pass a 12‑hour night shift health assessment.
