Howmet Aerospace’s Wichita Falls, TX facility is hiring a Wax Injector B. The role requires working 12-hour rotating night shifts (6:48 PM–6:48 AM) with overtime as needed, on-site.

Pay starts at $21.26 and caps at $25.82 per hour, plus comprehensive benefits including 401(k) with match and medical plans. The injection operator will handle wax pattern injection, inspection, and tooling setup, and must read PC/AI instructions and work well in a team.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required and authorization to work in the United States.
  • Legal ability to work in the United States; no visa sponsorship offered.
  • Minimum 1 year of wax experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Repetitive injection and control of wax patterns and sprues.
  • Inspect patterns and sprues; accept, reject, or repair per instructions.
  • Set up dimensional gauges and ensure conformance to tolerances.
  • Prepare sprues and locate ceramic bracing per engineering specs.
  • Operate injection cycle and manage tooling and fixtures.
  • Maintain supplies and follow safety and quality procedures.

MUST BE ABLE TO WORK 12 HOUR ROTATING NIGHT SHIFTS, 6:48 P.M TO 6:48 A.M. (2 on 2 off, 3 on 2 off, 2 on 3 off)

Pay rate begins at $21.26 and tops out at $25.82

JOB SUMMARY

Injection Operator B’s are responsible for the following skills: inspection, engraving, 35-Ton, 50-Ton, ET-50 and SI-250 injection. Trainees must successfully complete written and practical assessment of skills/knowledge at end of skills training.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Basic Computer Skills
  • Must be able to read and interpret Product Criteria (PC) and Activity Instructions (AI).
  • Must be able to function as a member of a team and be able to work under general supervision.
  • Must be able to maintain expected quality levels.
  • Comply with all site required policies and procedures, including but not limited to:
  • EHS, Quality, Code of Conduct and the Wichita Falls Employee Handbook.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Repetitive injection and control of wax patterns and sprues.
  • Performs inspection of all patterns and sprues. Determines whether to accept, reject, or repair the pattern per documented instructions.
  • Follows established protocol for notification of potential deviations or scrap trends.
  • Performs set-up of dimensional gauges.
  • Utilizes the necessary fixturing or gauges to ensure dimensional conformance of the patterns, molds, cores, etc. to specified tolerances.
  • Prepares sprues as required and locates ceramic bracing per engineering specification.
  • Performs specified operations during injection cycle.
  • Torch sprues, seal and pour cup. Add bracing as required per engineering specifications.
  • Maintains necessary supplies for the area to maximize productivity.
  • Must pay close attention to detail.
  • Sets up equipment as required to perform specific activities.
  • Follow 5S rules and procedures.
  • Utilize help chain when needed. (Human Performance, BOLO)
  • Works overtime as needed.
  • Performs other duties as required.

ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH AND SAFETY RESPONSIBILITES

  • Comply with all department, facility, corporate and regulatory EHS regulations
  • Wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE). Requires wearing safety glasses, gloves and Metatarsal shoes.
  • Report all job-related illness and injuries (Per Employee Handbook).
  • Report all safety, health and environmental concerns to your supervisor in a timely manner.
  • Attend all EHS training.
