Job summary

Howmet Aerospace is seeking a Wax Die Maintenance Technician in Hampton, VA to analyze specifications, lay out stock, set up and operate machine tools, and fabricate/repair wax injection dies, metalworking dies, jigs, fixtures, gauges, and tooling. The role offers the possibility of 2nd/3rd shift and weekend work, and an anticipated pay range of $70K-$80K per year.

Applicants must have at least a high school diploma or GED and 5 years of toolmaker/CNC/Mold maintenance experience.

This position requires a minimum of a high school diploma or GED.
This position requires a minimum of 5 years of toolmaker, CNC programming, & Injection Die/Mold maintenance experience and/or training.
Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
This position entails access to export-controlled items and employment offers are conditioned upon an applicant's ability to lawfully obtain access to such items.

Responsibilities

Read and follow information on work instructions.
Record data manually or by computer as required.
Must be mechanically inclined to inspect, troubleshoot, and service dies and molds.
Study blueprints, sketches, models, or descriptions to determine materials and machines.
Compute dimensions, plan layouts, and determine assembly methods and sequence.
Measure, mark, and scribe metal stock for machining.
Set up and operate machine tools (lathes, mills, grinders) to machine parts and verify conformance.
Position and secure parts on surface plate or worktable and assemble parts into assemblies.
