Job summary

Ferrovial, through Webber, invites applicants for a Field Engineering Intern - Waterworks to support project teams on water and wastewater construction projects. The role provides hands-on field exposure and collaboration with Field and Project Engineers, Superintendents, and the broader team.

You will gain experience in construction management, field engineering, layout, and documentation while learning from professionals in a safety‑conscious environment.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a civil, environmental engineering, construction management, construction science, or related bachelor's degree program.
• Interest in water and wastewater construction and field-based project work.
• Ability to communicate professionally in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Moderate computer skills using Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Support Field Engineers and other project personnel with daily field operations, production tracking, and work planning.
• Assist with quantity tracking, material take-offs, and verification of installed work on water and wastewater systems.
• Help interpret construction plans, specifications, and layouts related to water and wastewater infrastructure.
• Participate in basic surveying activities and learn layout, elevations, and measurement techniques.
• Observe and support jobsite safety practices, including JHA, safety observations, and compliance activities.
• Assist with documentation such as daily reports, field logs, as-builts, and project records.
• Learn to track labor, equipment, and material usage supporting production activities.
• Communicate effectively with field crews, project engineers, and inspectors to support work execution.
• Utilize Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and project documentation tools to support field engineering tasks.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support Waterworks project teams.
