Job summary

Herrera Environmental Consultants, Inc is seeking a Watershed Planning Engineer II/III to join a growing, employee-owned firm that partners with communities to design and implement resilient stormwater solutions.

You will collaborate with engineers, landscape architects, scientists, and GIS analysts on projects from urban watershed planning to climate resilience, producing planning documents and managing multiple tasks in a flexible hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree in civil, environmental, or water resources engineering.
• 3–8 years of relevant experience in stormwater and urban watershed planning.
• Experience with planning and/or design of GSI and other stormwater infrastructure.
• Experience with ArcGIS and hydrologic/hydraulic modeling software (SWMM, MGSFlood, WWHM).
• Preparation of planning and design reports and coordination with agencies and partners.
• Commitment to staying current with technical and regulatory developments.

Responsibilities

• Support planning of stormwater infrastructure from distributed GSI to centralized regional treatment.
• Support urban watershed planning to improve water quality and ecosystem health.
• Support municipal stormwater program planning and permit compliance.
• Support climate vulnerability assessments and adaptation planning.
• Produce planning, conceptual design, and technical documents.
• Communicate with internal/external team members and partners.
• Develop materials and facilitate workshops and public meetings.
• Learn to manage multiple tasks and projects.
