Job description

Company Information:

Asset Guard Products, Inc. is an industry-leading provider of customized, innovative solutions for industrial and construction waterproofing needs. Our mission is to protect assets and the environment, one seamless layer at a time. With our advanced technology and commitment to excellence, we deliver tailored solutions that solve real-world problems for our clients. By choosing ASSETGUARD, our clients are investing in the highest level of protection for their assets while minimizing environmental impact.

Position Summary:

As a Waterproofing Technician, you will play an important role in installing caulking in expansion, contraction, and control joints in interior and exterior masonry, door frames to masonry, windows to masonry, louvers to masonry, coping joints, concrete paving joints, saw cuts, and EIFS joints utilizing silicone, urethane, and acrylic based sealants. Waterproofing Technicians regularly work extended hours, weekends and may be required to travel out of town as needed.

  • Install caulk into joints using a bulk caulk gun, pulling product out of buckets, using “sausage” tubes, or standard tubes.
  • Inspect joints to make sure they are sound, and that all joint filler material has been removed, and size is acceptable.
  • Joints requiring it will be packed with backer rod to ensure proper joint depth, eliminate three side adhesion, and provide a sound backing to tool against.
  • Must be able to operate and work on a forklift, boom lift and/or scissor lift.
  • If required, joint primer is applied using a spatula type knife of proper size, smoothing sealant to match masonry mortar joints.
  • When using self-leveling products, use compatible material to “dam” ends, penetrations, and holes, so that the material remains in the joint.
  • Mix material when required utilizing a drill and mixing paddle. Mix according to manufacturer’s directions.
  • Access to joints may require use of boom lifts, scissor lifts, swing stage, scaffolds, ladders, boswain’s chair (sky genie), or bucket trucks to reach heights inside and outside of buildings under construction.
  • Clean tools using toluene or xylene type products. Specific care and precautions are to be taken when working with these solvent type materials.
Required Education, Experience, and Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • One to Three months related experience and or training.
  • Experience reading plans and below grade waterproofing or caulking preferred.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
Working Conditions:
  • Bending, lifting, climbing, pushing, pulling, kneeling, sitting stand, walk, kneel, stoop, squat, pull, push, climb, crouch, crawl, talk, hear, and see and standing (occasionally) for long periods of time.
  • The essential duties of this position require moderate to heavy lifting and carrying.
  • Must be able to position oneself to work in confined spaces such as trenches, pits, manholes, attics, and tunnels and demonstrate manual dexterity and be able to use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
  • Exposure to moderate noise levels, vibrations, and bright lights; and exposure to dust, fumes, and gases; and all climate types including hot and cold temperatures, humidity, rain, snow, etc.
  • Able to wear common protective or safety equipment such as safety shoes, glasses, gloves, hearing protection and hard hats when needed.
  • React quickly using hands, fingers, or feet.
  • Must be able to comprehend and follow written and oral instructions.
  • Must be able to complete tasks even with frequent interruptions.
  • Must be able to use discretion and independent judgment as needed.
  • Must be able to speak clearly on the phone and to fellow workers.
