Job description

The Town of Milton is seeking applicants for a full-time Water/Wastewater Technician in our Water/Wastewater department within the Public Works division. This role performs duties in the operation and maintenance of the Municipal Water and Wastewater Treatment Facilities to provide an adequate supply of safe potable water for consumption, as well as a safe and effective Wastewater treatment System. The Tech I role is an entry-level position, and the candidate should currently hold valid Grade 1-DM Wastewater Certification and a Class D water Distribution System Operator’s Certification, or participate in various training programs including assigned courses, correspondence courses, independent studies and on the job (“OJT”) programs designed to obtain these certifications within two (2) years of employment. Starting pay range is $20.00 – $23.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. This is an hourly, non-exempt AFSCME union-track position.
