Job summary

Powder Mountain Water and Sewer Improvement District seeks a Water & Wastewater Operator to maintain and manage the community's water and sewer systems. The operator will respond to alarms, inspect pumps and tanks, coordinate with contractors, and follow OSHA/EPA regulations. Training and certifications preferred, with potential for advancement.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to reside within 30 minutes of district boundaries for emergency response.
• Strong understanding of water/sewer utility principles and methods.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, monitor, and repair water mains, hydrants, meters, pumps, tanks, and infrastructure.
• Read and record water meters monthly.
• Respond to SCADA alarms to ensure water availability and safety.
• Inspect pumps, storage tanks, hydrants; complete reports.
• Follow OSHA and EPA safety standards; coordinate with contractors.
