Job summary

City of Lubbock seeks a Maintenance Technician for water and wastewater systems. You will inspect, repair, and maintain pumps, valves, and related equipment across Water Treatment and Wastewater plants, and perform routine maintenance.

The job requires a high school diploma or equivalent with 3-5 years of experience, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to obtain WW-C and WW-D licenses within six months. You will also lead assistants, prepare reports, and work with safety protocols.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with 3–5 years of experience operating and repairing large stationary equipment.
• Valid current driver's license.
• Ability to obtain WW-C and WW-D wastewater licenses within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, repair, and maintain water and wastewater equipment.
• Perform routine maintenance on pumps, valves, compressors, and fittings.
• Lead, train, and evaluate assistants.
• Keep records and prepare reports.
• Operate forklift and front-end loader for wastewater plants.
• Work on welding, electrical, and pipeline tasks.
