Job summary

McCarthy Building Companies, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Safety Manager to promote a proactive safety culture and administer the PHE safety program on a project.

You will work to engage all team members in creating a safe work environment and will coordinate safety with on-site staff. Responsibilities include conducting regular safety inspections, leading toolbox talks, coordinating PPE and safety materials, investigating injuries, and maintaining OSHA records, with travel within the region as

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience managing safety on large water, healthcare, commercial, industrial, or similar construction projects.
• Bachelor's degree in related field preferred.
• Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
• OSHA 500 preferred.
• Ability to travel within the region as necessary.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and discuss safety programs with on-site subcontractors and McCarthy employees to embed safety culture.
• Conduct safety inspections at least twice per month and coordinate reports with the insurance provider.
• Coordinate with Project Supervision to ensure safety materials and first aid supplies are available and posted on-site.
• Investigate injuries and review accident reports; coordinate corrective actions with staff and log for OSHA.
