Job summary

The City of Gallatin seeks a Water and Wastewater Regulatory Compliance Manager to provide senior-level oversight of environmental compliance for water, wastewater, and stormwater permits. The role includes audits, program development, and cross-department coordination to ensure regulatory adherence.

Responsibilities also cover data collection, reporting, and public outreach, with emphasis on accuracy, timely action, and safety. A Bachelor’s degree and 3–5 years’ related experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biology, environmental science, or related field.
• TNESPC Level 1 certification preferred.
• Must have valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Assists with development and maintenance of regulatory compliance programs related to water, wastewater, and stormwater.
• Prepares regulatory compliance plans and coordinates with operations to implement plans.
• Monitors upcoming regulations and advises management of potential requirements.
• Coordinates preparation of required regulatory compliance reports for water and wastewater.
• Maintains a calendar of required sampling and reporting events.
• Coordinates data collection and entry from field documents and reports.
• Assists in investigating water quality complaints and determining actions.
• Supports public awareness and outreach programs.
