Water/Wastewater Regional Technical Lead/ Senior Engineer

As part of STV’s strategic plan, Water has been identified as a major growth area. The water group in North Carolina has built a solid backlog. To serve existing clients and expand our water practice in the Carolinas and surrounding states, we have an immediate need for a Water/Wastewater Regional Technical Lead/Senior Engineer based in our Charlotte, NC office. The successful candidate will support current staff, grow the water/wastewater practice, manage projects, mentor junior staff, and foster a healthy work-life balance. This role involves managing projects under supervision, collaborating with junior staff, and contributing to successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

The candidate will manage design and plan production for water and sewer projects involving clients such as Charlotte Water, CLT Airport, City of Concord, NCDOT, Union County, and York County. The ideal candidate will be a professional engineer with 8+ years of water/sewer design experience, including water distribution, wastewater collection, system modeling, treatment, pump stations, cost estimates, technical reports, and coordination across disciplines.

Required Qualifications
  • BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering; MS a plus
  • Minimum 8 years of water and sewer design experience
  • Project management experience
  • North Carolina PE license required
  • Experience with local municipalities (e.g., Charlotte Water, CLT Airport, City of Concord)
  • Knowledge of NCDOT procedures a plus
  • Proficient in MicroStation and/or AutoCAD
  • Ability to research and select technical data with limited guidance
  • Experience with project computations, estimates, and designs
  • Construction administration/inspection experience a plus
  • Strong communication and coordination skills
  • Ability to work independently and in teams
Compensation Range

$116,960.00 - $155,946.00
