Job summary

BGE, Inc. is hiring an engineer to design water and wastewater systems. You will perform calculations, plan conveyance networks, and support pump stations and treatment facilities from concept through construction.

The role requires an ABET-accredited degree, EIT/FE certification, and 1–2 years of relevant design experience, with strong communication and teamwork skills for a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering from ABET-accredited university.
• EIT certification or FE exam completion is required or strongly preferred.
• 1–2 years of water and wastewater infrastructure design experience is preferred.
• Ability to collaborate with multiple design disciplines and communicate clearly.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills; capable of working independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering design and calculations for water and wastewater projects.
• Plan and design conveyance systems and facilities including pump stations and treatment plants.
• Develop system curves and pump sizing calculations; perform hydraulic analysis.
• Prepare OPCCs and contract documents (plans, specs, bid forms).
• Support site visits and review submittals for design conformity and quality.
