Job summary

BGE, Inc. is seeking a Civil/Mechanical Engineer with 1–2 years of water and wastewater design experience to contribute to pipeline and facility projects in a nationwide civil engineering practice. You will perform hydraulic calculations, prepare OPCCs, and develop contract documents for public and private infrastructure programs.

ABET-accredited degree required with EIT/FE certification. Proficiency with Civil 3D or OpenRoads is preferred, and teamwork is essential in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
• EIT certification or FE exam completed.
• 1–2 years water and wastewater design experience preferred.
• Ability to collaborate across design disciplines and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering design and calculations for water and wastewater pipeline and facility projects.
• Plan and design water and wastewater conveyance systems.
• Support planning and design of facilities including pump stations and treatment plants.
• Perform pipeline hydraulic flow and pressure calculations.
• Prepare Opinions of Probable Construction Cost (OPCCs).
• Produce contract documents including plans, specs, and bid forms.
• Conduct site visits during design and construction to observe installation activities.
