Job summary

CDM Smith in North Carolina is seeking an experienced Water/Wastewater Project Manager to lead planning and design teams on large scale water distribution, wastewater collection, and treatment projects. You will manage multi‑million dollar programs, mentor staff, and drive client interaction.

Open to candidates who can work from Nashville, Knoxville, TN offices, with travel up to 10%. Expect collaboration with sales for proposals, budgeting, and delivery of projects while upholding regulatory

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree.
• 4 years of related experience.
• PMP (PMI), CCM or DBIA certification is required (within 12 months of hire or promotion onto the Approved Project Manager list).
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

• Managing water/wastewater design, permitting, and construction services from early concept development through construction.
• Serving as a leader of project teams and mentoring junior staff, including the coordination and reviewing of project assignments.
• Effectively working with key technical specialists, project team members, and delivery managers.
• Assisting with preparation of design drawings and specifications on large, complex, multi-discipline design projects.
• Preparing, monitoring, and managing project budgets and schedules while managing the firm’s risk.
