Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a Senior Project Manager to join our South Group in Knoxville or Nashville. You will lead multi-discipline water/wastewater projects and guide design teams, managing budgets and schedules while serving as the primary client liaison.

The role emphasizes mentoring staff, collaborating with technical specialists and delivery managers, and contributing to new business development. Travel up to 10% may be required; PMP/ CCM/ DBIA certification is expected within 12 months.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree.
• 10 years of related experience.
• PMP (PMI), CCM or DBIA certification is required (within 12 months of hire or promotion onto the Approved Project Manager list).
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

• Managing water/wastewater design, permitting, and construction services from early concept development through construction
• Serving as a leader of project teams and mentoring staff, including the coordination and reviewing of project assignments
• Effectively working with key technical specialists, project team members, and delivery managers
• Assisting with preparation of design drawings and specifications on multi-discipline design projects
• Preparing, monitoring, and managing project budgets and schedules while managing the firm’s risk using the latest project management tools
• Being active in the water/wastewater industry, and conference/committee participation in professional societies
• Assisting in new business development by contributing to strategic planning, marketing, and business operations planning
• Collaborating with sales team members in response to client requests for qualifications (RFQs)
• Interfacing with clients and government officials and providing updates to upper management as necessary
