Job summary

Wharton-Smith, Inc. seeks a Project Manager – Water/Wastewater in Ft. Myers, FL. You will lead all phases from planning through closeout, manage budgets, schedules, and vendor relations, and mentor project staff to deliver safe, on-time, and on-budget projects.

The role requires 6–10 years of construction management experience, strong communication, and travel to project sites. Proficiency in CPM scheduling and MS Office is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• 6–10 years of construction management experience.
• Proven ability to independently manage complex construction projects from preconstruction through project closeout.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with project startup, mobilization, and coordinating project teams.
• Proficiency with computer-based CPM scheduling programs.
• Proficiency with construction management software.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
• Willingness to travel regularly to project sites and regional offices.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Lead all phases of project planning, execution, and closeout.
• Develop and manage project budgets, cost forecasts, cash flow projections, and financial reporting.
• Develop, maintain, and monitor project schedules and recovery plans.
• Manage owner contracts, subcontract agreements, procurement activities, and vendor relationships.
• Direct and mentor Interns, Project Engineers and Assistant Project Managers.
• Maintain strong client relationships and support repeat business opportunities through exceptional delivery.
• Ensure safety, quality control, and operational efficiency on site.
