Job summary

RK&K is seeking a self-motivated Project Manager to lead municipal water/wastewater projects in the Hampton Roads and Mid-Atlantic regions from Newport News and Virginia Beach. You will oversee feasibility studies, design, construction documents, and construction management, while cultivating client relationships and leading project teams.

The role emphasizes cross-disciplinary collaboration, budget and schedule management, and delivering high-quality municipal infrastructure solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering
• Minimum eight years of relevant municipal Water/Wastewater consulting experience
• Existing municipal/private client relationships or ability to develop them
• Motivated to find creative civil engineering solutions
• Proficiency in communicating technical information (verbal and written)
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word
• Preferred: Advanced degree, PMP certification, PE registration, AutoCAD or BIM proficiency

Responsibilities

• Develop project deliverables coordinating engineering disciplines in a collaborative team
• Provide technical evaluation and analyze costs/benefits of alternatives for water/wastewater projects
• Mentor and develop junior engineers and build project delivery teams
• Manage multiple water/wastewater facility projects
• Deliver strong results on municipal projects (conveyance, collection, stormwater, rehabilitation)
• Negotiate scopes, schedules, and budgets for projects
• Use internal systems for project management, QA/QC, and governance
• Interface with clients, agencies, and subconsultants to pursue and execute projects
• Identify and create opportunities by networking with utilities and agencies
• Support leadership in marketing and pursuit of new water/wastewater work
