Job summary

Wilson Engineers is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join our Reno, Nevada office to lead water and wastewater infrastructure design efforts. The role delivers technical design, calculations, and documentation for public works projects, coordinating across CAD designers, subconsultants, and operations staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of engineering experience.
• EIT certification required.
• PE license preferred or ability to obtain licensure.
• Experience with municipal water and/or wastewater projects preferred.
• Working knowledge of applicable engineering standards, codes, and regulations.
• Strong technical writing and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and common engineering software.

Responsibilities

• Develop engineering designs and technical documents for water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
• Manage multiple engineering assignments while maintaining quality, schedule, and budget.
• Coordinate with CAD designers, electrical and structural engineers, subconsultants, and project team members.
• Review engineering calculations, shop drawings, RFIs, equipment submittals, and O&M manuals.
• Conduct site visits to verify conditions and gather field information.
• Prepare technical reports, calculations, figures, specifications, and permit applications.
• Mentor entry-level engineers and interns; support cross-discipline collaboration.
• Assist in project scopes, schedules, staffing plans, and budgets.
• Support risk management, proposal development, and contract review.
