Job summary

City of Abilene is seeking entry to mid-level Professional Engineers to contribute to the design, investigation, and construction of water and wastewater utility projects. Under supervision, you will prepare plans, specs, and reports, and coordinate with consultants, developers, and contractors.

The role supports CIP planning, budgeting, and mentoring of junior staff, with opportunities for advancement to lead larger projects and assume project management responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field preferred.
• Experience with water/wastewater projects and standard design practices.
• Ability to coordinate with consultants, developers and contractors.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing project plans, specifications, and estimates.
• Review engineering work for accuracy and compliance.
• Coordinate with consultants, developers, and contractors.
• Lead or assist in CIP planning and budget input.
• Provide technical supervision to staff as assigned.
