Job summary

PCL Construction, Inc. in Ventura, California, is seeking a Project Engineer to support complex water/wastewater projects with hands-on project coordination, subcontractor management, document control, scheduling and cost tracking.

The ideal candidate has 1–3 years of construction experience, a degree in construction management, engineering, or related field, and strong communication and organizational skills. This role offers growth in a collaborative, employee-owned environment.

Qualifications

• Associates or bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related field.
• 1–3 years of construction experience in an operational role preferred.
• Strong understanding of HSE, quality, and building materials.
• Proficient in MS Office and project document control.

Responsibilities

• Maintain contract with trade partners and manage subcontract administration.
• Participate in change management and assess cost/schedule impact.
• Maintain project document control (RFIs, submittals, as-built drawings).
• Collaborate with project team lead on design and submittal schedule.
• Review submittals for scope and design compliance.
• Coordinate with project manager on cost, schedule and quality.
• Assist with site inspections and closeout documentation.
